I'm an online business coach, mom of 3, and founder of Simple Creator Co. I built a 7-figure business with digital products, and now I help everyday women do the same (even if they’re short on time, not techy, and starting from scratch)!

I'm rebecca!

create your first digital product in a week!

Let me guess…You’ve Googled “best side hustles for moms” more times than you can count. And every time, it’s the same lineup: sell leggings, become a virtual assistant, apply for a remote job you’ll probably never hear back from, or go viral on TikTok Shop.

Here’s the thing: If you’ve ever thought, “I just want something real that fits into my life,” you’re not alone. So let me introduce you to a business model most moms don’t even know exists…but totally should! It’s not salesy. It’s not spammy. And it doesn’t require you to go viral constantly.

The answer: Digital Products! (Jump to “What is a Digital Product” section)

The Side Hustles Moms Are Tired Of Hearing About

Let’s call it what it is: Most of the side hustle suggestions out there are either unrealistic, energy-sucking, or straight-up scams.

Here’s what I didn’t want when I started looking for ways to make money from home:

  • MLMs with awkward Facebook messages
  • A job that locks me into 9–5 hours
  • Learning how to be a content creator just to make five dollars on TikTok Shop
  • Trading time for money forever as a freelancer

What I wanted? A side hustle that actually worked around my life, not one that took it over.

That’s where digital products came in. And no one was really talking about them!

What Is a Digital Product (and Why Moms Should Be Paying Attention)

A digital product is something you create once and sell over and over again.

It could be:

  • a downloadable guide
  • a printable planner
  • a checklist or template
  • a mini-course or workshop
  • or even a swipe file, spreadsheet, or toolkit

You don’t need to be a tech wizard or graphic designer. (Thank you, Canva.)

And you definitely don’t need a huge audience to start. Just an idea and a simple way to package it!Want to see 500 real examples? Download my free list of 500 Digital Product Ideas!

Why This Side Hustle Actually Works for Moms

Most side hustles sound good in theory…until you realize they don’t actually fit your life. This one is one of the BEST side hustles for moms! It’s flexible, low-pressure, and built to grow with you in whatever season you’re in.

Let’s break it down:

  • Low startup cost – You don’t need to invest hundreds (or thousands) to get started. Most people begin with simple tools like Canva to create their product and Flodesk to sell it and grow their email list. You can even use Google Docs, Trello, or Loom! No fancy software. No product photographer needed. You can build something real on a $0 budget and scale from there.
  • No inventory or shipping – Because everything is digital, there’s no printing, packaging, or trips to the post office. Once someone buys your product, they get it instantly! You’re not sitting at your kitchen table stuffing envelopes or tracking orders. It’s a simple “buy now, deliver automatically” setup that works in the background.
  • Flexible hours – You can work in the margins of your day: during nap time, in carline, or after bedtime, whenever you have time! You don’t have to clock in or be available for calls. And once your product is made, most of your work can happen in the in-between. This makes it ideal if your schedule is unpredictable or your hands are full (literally and figuratively)!
  • Scalable – You create the product once, and then you can sell it over and over again. Whether one person buys or 100 people buy, it takes you the same amount of time. That’s the power of a one-to-many business model, and why it’s so different from freelancing or service work. It doesn’t cap your income based on how many hours you have in the day.
  • Freedom First – This model is built to give you margin, not steal it. No pressure to go viral. No cold pitching. No MLM parties. You’re building something that works for you in the long run, a business that gives you freedom instead of taking it away. Because at the end of the day this isn’t just about making money. It’s about creating a life that feels aligned with your values, your schedule, and your season of life.

My very first digital product was a $10 Lightroom Preset for photographers. Nothing fancy. No logo. I made it in 15 minutes, linked it to a checkout page, and shared the link in a Facebook Group.

It was a small product with big heart, and I launched it with zero ad budget, zero team, and two toddler at my feet.

The first time someone bought it, I literally jumped up and down in my living room!  I couldn’t believe a digital file I created during nap time had just made me money while I was folding laundry!

But here’s the part that still blows my mind:

That little $10 product has since paid our mortgage…more times than I can count.

Not because it went viral. Not because I got lucky. But because I put a simple system behind it to sell it on repeat, and I’ve helped hundreds of other women do the same since then!

Is This Too Good to Be True?

If you’re thinking, “Okay, but is this actually real?” I get it. I felt the same way when I first heard about digital products.

I’d tried so many other ideas, none of which gave me real time freedom or income I could rely on. Most of what I saw online either felt spammy, salesy, or required me to become a full-time content machine.

Here’s what’s different about this:

  • It’s not passive overnight. (And don’t listen to anyone who says something is…”get rich quick” is almost always too good to be true.)
  • It does take a little effort upfront. (But when I say a little, I mean you could have your first digital product created in a week! I can show you how in my Made to Sell mini-course.)
  • But it’s totally doable in the margins of a real life…even a messy, busy, beautiful one like yours and mine.

So no, it’s not too good to be true. It’s just good. (Arguably one of the best side hustles for moms out there right now.) And it’s built for women who are ready to do things differently!

So…How Do You Know If This Could Work for You?

Honestly? If you’re still reading, it probably can!

You don’t need a big following or fancy tech skills to start. You just need a little time, a simple idea, and a better plan than “post and pray.”
